Inspiration
At the time of creation, Tiffany & Co. Nike Air Force 1s were getting hyped up.
I wondered...
1) How could I make a nature-inspired Tiffany & Co. collab that was subtle, striking, and had an interesting silhouette?
2) How could I create a Nike upper with a chunky silhouette without the heavy and bulky nature of an AF1 midsole + outsole so I can have all-day comfort while walking?
Silhouette & Outsole hunting
I needed a midsole + outsole that was:
1) lightweight for walking all day
1) lightweight for walking all day
2) had cushion
3) looked stylish (well - to me, anyways).
So I went to my local Vans store and picked up a Vans Old Skool Overt because:
1) the 360 degree ComfyCush foam midsole + outsole was lightweight
2) the completely foam midsole + outsole felt like walking on clouds
3) and I liked it (to be honest, this might have been the most important reason... 🙃)
Process
Pattern tracing, cutting, taping, and a whole lot of dancing!
Sewing the upper and pulling it over the last - and no dancing :(
Lasting, skiving, and gluing - we gotta keep it moving!
Finally delast step (see what I did there?)
