Form Language & Graphic Inspiration Board

The "Stealth Mode" capsule collection takes inspiration from B-2 and B-21 stealth bombers and the black Heron.

B-2 & B-21 Stealth Bombers

Stealth bombers are used for covert op missions. They have an iconic "V"-shape that soars across the sky hidden in plain sight. On the top exterior of the B-2 and B21, you'll notice white lines. These lines are actually a map that tells the pilot where they can walk and not walk when boarding and departing the aircraft.

Black Heron

The black heron, also called the black egret, is a wading bird found in sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar. It uses a technique called "canopy feeding" while hunting for fish This involves spreading its wings like an umbrella to create shade over the water to trick small aquatic prey that it is nighttime and safe to come out. This maneuver makes the black heron a stealth predator hidden in plain sight.

The 3 patterns I made were inspired by the feathers of the black heron and the intricate details of the stealth bomber. I named the patterns as follows (L to R): Birds of a Feather, Operation Arctic Storm, Hidden Intricacies.

"Stealth Mode" Capsule Collection

Sticking to NOBULL's simplicity and commitment to functionality, my goal was to add simple V-shaped elements to the silhouettes and let the stealth graphics be the star of attention on the garments. Ultimately, I didn't want to add unnecessary elements to their existing product line.
